Marlton Real Estate Information

The town of Marlton is a census designated area in Prince George’s County in the US state of Maryland. The town is home to a population of just around 8,000 residents and covers a total area of six square miles of land. Marlton, which was originally called Marlboro Country for a short period of time, grew and expanded in the area just off of the US Route 301. Marlton is considered to be a part of the Greater Upper Marlboro community, and the younger residents of Marlton all attend the Frederick Douglass High School.

Marlton is mostly made up of residential properties, but one can also find many stores and businesses in the town as well. The main shopping complex that serves the town is the Marlton Plaza Shopping Center. This mall features a wide range of brand name and retail stores, as well as several restaurants too. Also in the town of Marlton, one can find the old Saint Paul’s Moravian Church. This church was constructed many years ago, and is considered to be the oldest standing church in the entire town. It displays some beautiful architecture and has recently been improved to accommodate all its guests. There are also several parks and recreational facilities in the town of Marlboro as well. These parks include the Marlton Neighborhood Park and the Marlton Community Park. Both parks feature wide-open fields, benches, and paths for joggers and bicyclists, and each of them are public property open to all.

There are also many other attractions located just around the city of Marlton, but still within Prince George’s County. These attractions include such things as the Six Flags America and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor amusement parks. Both of the large parks feature various rides and roller coasters as well as many games and shows. Also located around the town of Marlton, one can find the FedEx Field. This huge stadium is the home of the Washington Redskins, the only professional sports team found in Prince George’s County. There are many nationally protected areas that can be found around the town as well. These include Fort Washington Park, Greenbelt Park, and Piscataway Park. In addition, the Patuxent Wildlife research Refuge is another nationally protected area that is devoted to the study and preservation of many local species found only in the Maryland region. All of these parks and attractions can be seen on a day trip from the town of Marlton.
